Abstract
Incaseofopto-electronicdevicesthepowerappliedonthedeviceleavesinaparallelheatandlighttransport.ForthisreasontheinterpretationofRthisnotobvious.BystudyingelectricalandthermaltransientsinhighpowerLEDsthispaperproposesamulti-domain“compact”modelsuitableforcorrectsimulationofsingledevicesaswellasLEDarraysinaboard-levelsimulationenvironment.Thethermalpartofthemodelhasbeenidentifiedfromstructurefunctionsextractedfrommeasuredthermaltransients.Severalmeasurementswerecarriedoutinacombinedphotometric/thermalmeasurement
setup,whichisproposedforthecharacterizationofpowerLEDs.Transientsimulationresultscomparedtomeasuredtransientsarealsopresented.
