据欧盟网站消息，5月5日欧盟发布（EU）2015/722号法规，批准牛磺酸作为犬科、猫科、鼬科动物和肉食性鱼的饲料添加剂使用。该法规自公布二十日起生效。
按照新法规要求，水分含量为12%的饲料中牛磺酸的推荐最大限量为：猫科动物：2500牛磺酸/kg，肉食性鱼：25000牛磺酸/kg，犬科和鼬科动物：2000牛磺酸/kg。

concerning the authorisation of taurine as a feed additive for Canidae, Felidae, Mustelidae and carnivorous fish
Article 1
The substance specified in the Annex, belonging to the additive category 'nutritional additives' and to the functional group 'vitamins, pro-vitamins and chemically well-defined substances having similar effect‘， are authorised as an additive in animal nutrition subject to the conditions laid down in that Annex.
Article 2
1. The substance specified in the Annex and premixtures containing that substance which are produced and labelled before 26 November 2015 in accordance with the rules applicable before 26 May 2015 may continue to be placed>
